My 9 yr old wants to be a bride or an angel for halloween (and just now told me) Any cheap, easy ideas?
We usually make our costumes using what we have around the house. I’m not a great seamstress and patterns boggle my mind. But I am creative, and can sew well enough for a Halloween costume…. She’s in that lovely phase where NONE of my ideas (about anything) are good enough, so I thought if they came from HERE, it would be ok! (and isn’t she developing this attitude towards me WAY too soon? But that’s another question, saved for another time-haha)
Tulle….Lots and lots of Tulle. Little girls love it and you can make it into a veil and skirt very easy. I also used it to make my own wings a couple of years ago. I just bent wire coat hangers into the shape of wings and stretched the tulle over it. I gathered it in the middle and hot glued thin white fluffy boa’s around the edges and in the middle, then I added a few flowers. I made a halo the same way. My daughter still has it in her dress up stuff.
Wal-mart and Jo Ann fabrics have it real cheap.
